Founded in the year 2008, Indosolar has within a span of 11 months from conception to implementation started producing high efficiency multi-crystalline cells on its first in-line manufacturing line of 80MW. The second in-line production line of 80MW multi-crystalline is under installation and will be producing its cells by March 2010.
In order to strengthen our position in the global marketplace, we will continue to expand at our production site in India at Greater Noida with an additional capacity of 200 MW of multi-crystalline cells by end 2011.
Indosolar will also set up a strong R&D centre in association with global partners to continuously improve the efficiency of its cell. Driving down cost of operation is a core focus to be globally competetive.

To be the market leader and preferred suppliers for our customers, we will produce 160MWp by 2009 and 360MW by 2011 and ultimately to 1 GWp by 2015.

Mr. B. K. Gupta and his son, Mr. H. R. Gupta, Founder Chairman and Managing Director – Phoenix Lamps Limited, India. Were the pioneers in bringing Halogen and Compact Fluorescent Lamp technology to India in 1989.

98% of the market share in Halogen Lamp Market with automatic lines from Japan.

CRISIL assigns grade 3/5 to Indosolar IPO

CRISIL has assigned a CRISIL IPO grade of 3/5 to the proposed initial public offer (IPO) of Indosolar, in its report dated March 18, 2010.

“This grade indicates that the fundamentals of the IPO are average relative to other listed equity securities in India. However, this grade is not an opinion on whether the issue price is appropriate in relation to the issue fundamentals. The grade is not a recommendation to buy/sell or hold the graded instrument, or a comment on the graded instrument’s future market price or its suitability for a particular investor,” according to report.

Indosolar is in the business of manufacturing and marketing , high efficiency multi-crystalline Solar Cells. We will soon be expanding to manufacture mono-crystalline cells as we foresee photovoltaic’s to be a sustainable technology that is compatible with our environment and the growing demand of energy through renewable sources globally.

About the Plant

IndoSolar is commissioning a fully robotic high efficiency, 360 megawatts photovoltaic solar cell manufacturing facility.
Investment: Rs. 1545 crores and factory area: 3,00,000 (300,000) sq.ft.
Phase I of 160 megawatts will be completed by June 2009. Total capacity of 360 MW will be commissioned by March 2010.
Financial year 2012 will have export potential of Rs. 3600 annually (Check from another source).
The PV solar cell will have a minimum maintenance free life span of 25 years.
By 2020, solar cell production may reach 5000 MW in India. Indosolar has plans to reach 1000 Mw by 2015.
Solar energy is expected to represent 60% of world electricity production by the turn of the century. Presently solar energy facilities installed have about 10 GW and by 2012 it will go up to 52GW. (Source: Photon Consulting)
